This is what I heard from my friend, who works at the base.
In the wars these days, some soldiers become in charge of the pilots for drones. Particularly, with the weapons called “First-Person View drone, they can shoot the targets accurately even several kilometers away from the front, in safety. There is no risk of endangering their own lives.
However, according to my friend, such drone pilots often encounter strange phenomena.
Sometimes, in the dozens of drones up the sky above the battlefield, they can find one which just freezes- like pinned to the sky. With a doubt of malfunction, keeping eye on it, they cannot tell whether it belongs to their side or the enemy. Though only a few years have passed since such weapons became available, soldiers with experience have seen it at least once before.
And sometimes, this drone “comes nearer” to the pilots. The position that they can find it becomes closer and closer each time they go out from the base.
Then finally, they can see it directly, not displaying offense. Once they fall into such a situation, the drone will never disappear from their view. Soldiers who “can see the drone” are forced to quit the army, with made-up reasons like health issues.
I heard from a friend that there are some of his colleagues who still fear the drone floating overhead.
