Application of Love

This is a true story.

The first woman I met on the app was a single mother of two, or maybe three.

She’d worked in healthcare for a while. Although she’d since retired from the field, countless night shifts had destroyed her dietary habits along with her sleep cycle, leaving her prone to spells of hallucination and delirium.

Poor thing.

We were in my living room, eating a midnight meal from McDonald’s, when she declared there was a demon outside my flat. It was hovering around my balcony, swaying back and forth, as it stared through the glass doors.

Curious, I asked her what this demon looked like. She said it was humanoid in shape, but its skin was scaly and blue. It had beady eyes, set above a squashed piggish nose, and a drooling maw with two thick tusks. In short, it looked like a mixture of man, boar, and lizard.

I drew a sketch based on her description. This unnerved her greatly.

She begged me to set some salts by my bed. So, I did, and we had sex.

I soon stopped answering her messages, for there were plenty of others on the app with better bodies and minds.

Poor things.

Really, I acted like quite the cold-blooded pig—a mixture of man, boar, and lizard.

I do wonder whether that demon really was haunting my flat, and whether it’s still here.

I hope so, because then I would need only to move to be rid of it.
